An examination of femicides in Peru between 2009 and 2014
Femicide is the lethal expression of violence against women for gender-based reasons [1]. Peru is an upper-middle-income country where 71.5% of women of reproductive age have been exposed to intimate partner violence of some form (psychological abuse: 67.5%, physical violence: 35.7%, and sexual abuse: 8.4%) [2].
