Dental trauma prevention with mouthguard in a nose fracturing blow to the face: Case report
This report presents a case of an injury caused by a punchlike blow to the face during a handball college team practice session. The patient suffered a traumatic blow to the left side of the nose and mouth and promptly attended a dentist. After a clinical examination and a CBCT scan, the following injuries were diagnosed: upper lip laceration, upper left lateral incisor subluxation and anterior nasal spine fracture. More severe teeth injuries were likely prevented because the patient was wearing a mouthguard. (Source: Dental Traumatology)

The risk of healing complications in primary teeth with concussion or subluxation injury —A retrospective cohort study
ConclusionPrimary teeth with concussion or subluxation injury carry a low risk of PN and infection with periapical inflammation, root resorption, and PTL. Nearly all complications were diagnosed within the first year after the injury. The risk of PTL was highest in patients more than 4 years of age at the time of injury. (Source: Dental Traumatology)

The risk of healing complications in primary teeth with intrusive luxation: A retrospective cohort study
ConclusionsOver 80% of the intruded primary teeth re‐erupted spontaneously. However, nearly one‐third of the teeth showed complications such as pulp infection/periapical inflammation or ankylosis, which could potentially affect the development of the permanent incisor. Therefore, patients should be monitored regularly, especially during the first year after injury, to diagnose and treat complications in time. (Source: Dental Traumatology)

Contemporary imaging for the diagnosis and treatment of traumatic dental injuries: A review
Abstract Traumatic dental injuries (TDI) have an array of presentations. Diagnostic challenges are common and clinicians' ability to correctly identify specific injuries dictates the optimal course of treatment(s). The aim of this review was to outline and assess all dental imaging techniques and their applications to traumatic dental injuries. A particular interest is given to the advancement of 3D imaging techniques and their role in diagnosis and treatment planning. The benefits of achieving a more accurate diagnosis are paramount to perfecting clinical judgments and outcomes. (Source: Dental Traumatology)

Oral health ‐related quality of life and risk factors associated with traumatic dental injuries in brazilian children: a multilevel approach
ConclusionsTDI was better explained by individual factors, related to sociodemographic conditions and occlusal problems, with a negative impact on OHRQoL, adjusted for untreated caries. Contextual variables were not associated with TDI in 12‐year‐old Brazilian schoolchildren. Interdisciplinary actions for preventing dental trauma, such as stimulating the use of mouthguards, have to be encouraged by the Family Health Strategy (FHS) and School Health Program (SHP).This article is protected by copyright. Remote diagnosis of traumatic dental injuries using digital photographs captured via a mobile phone
ConclusionThe precision of the remote diagnoses was comparable to the diagnoses conducted in person. The levels of inter‐examiner agreement were higher when clinical data were included with the images.
