The relationship between approaches to study and academic performance among Australian undergraduate occupational therapy students
ConclusionsUndergraduate occupational therapy students’ approaches to study were predictive of their AP to a very limited degree. However, their AP was predicted by a number of demographic variables, including age, gender and year level of enrolment. Further study in this area is recommended. Upper limb motor training using a Saebo ™ orthosis is feasible for increasing task‐specific practice in hospital after stroke
ConclusionsThis pilot feasibility study showed that the use of assistive technology, specifically the Saebo‐Flex™ device, could be successfully used in a sample of stroke patients with little or no active hand movement. However, recruitment to the trial was very slow. The use of the Saebo‐FlexTM device had variable results on outcomes, with some positive trends seen in hand function, particularly dexterity. High quality clinical supervision is an important component of clinical governance and has been shown to be beneficial to practitioners, patients and the organisation. Information on factors that make clinical supervision effective identified in this study can be added to existing supervision training and practices to improve the quality of clinical supervision.
