ConclusionsFor schizophrenia patients on stable antipsychotic treatment, adjunctive antidepressants are effective for total and particularly negative symptom reduction. Psychosocial stress differentially affects emotional empathy in women with borderline personality disorder and healthy controls
ConclusionThe current finding provides first evidence that stress differentially affects emotional empathy in patients with BPD and healthy individuals such that patients with BPD showed reduced emotional empathy compared to healthy women after stress. Given the strong impact of stress on acute psychopathology in patients with BPD, such a response may exacerbate interpersonal conflicts in stress contexts and may be an important target for therapeutic interventions. Short ‐term and long‐term measures of cortisol in saliva and hair in atypical and non‐atypical depression
ConclusionsNormal long‐term (HCC) and reduced short‐term (AUCg) cortisol levels in A‐MDE could suggest a disrupted long‐term cortisol rhythm, perhaps affected by environmental factors or by certain symptoms, such as mid‐nocturnal insomnia. Predictors and consequences of health anxiety symptoms: a novel twin modeling study
ConclusionObsessional thoughts, body dysmorphic concerns, and social anxiety symptoms may have a causal influence on HA. To report physical/somatic anxiety appears to be a consequence of the underlying presence of HA‐related fears. Should our results be confirmed by longitudinal studies, the evaluation and treatment of HA may benefit from the consideration of these identified risk factors. Risk factors and peripheral biomarkers for schizophrenia spectrum disorders: an umbrella review of meta ‐analyses
ConclusionDespite identifying 98 associations, there is only robust evidence to suggest that cannabis use, exposure to stressful events during childhood and adulthood, history of obstetric complications, and low serum folate level confer a higher risk for developing schizophrenia spectrum disorders.
