Religiosity and psychological resilience in patients with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder: an international cross ‐sectional study
ConclusionThe protective effect of religiosity in terms of resilience, social functioning, and psychopathology was not evident in our sample. Spiritual well‐being appears more relevant to resilience than religiosity. (Source: Acta Psychiatrica Scandinavica)

Risk profiles of personality traits for suicidality among mood disorder patients and community controls
ConclusionIntrovert personality traits showed independent risk effects on suicidality regardless of diagnosis status. Among high‐risk individuals with suicidal thoughts, higher neuroticism tendency is further associated with increased risk of suicide attempt. (Source: Acta Psychiatrica Scandinavica)

Suicide attempt predicted by academic performance and childhood IQ: a cohort study of 26 000 children
ConclusionsPoor academic performance in compulsory school, at age 16, was a robust predictor of suicide attempt past young adulthood and seemed to account for the association between lower childhood IQ and suicide attempt. (Source: Acta Psychiatrica Scandinavica)

Antipsychotic plasma levels in the assessment of poor treatment response in  schizophrenia
ConclusionA significant proportion of patients considered treatment‐resistant have subtherapeutic antipsychotic plasma levels, and this is associated with subsequent admission. The presence of subtherapeutic plasma levels may suggest a need to address adherence or pharmacokinetic factors as opposed to commencing clozapine treatment. While antipsychotic levels are not recommended for the routine adjustment of dosing, they may assist with the assessment of potential treatment resistance in schizophrenia. Diagnostic and genetic overlap of three common mental disorders in structured interviews and health registries
ConclusionPrevalence and comorbidity estimates differ between registries and population‐based assessment. Nevertheless, diagnoses from health registries reflect the same genetic influences as common mental disorders assessed in the general population, indicating generalizability of aetiological factors across data sources.
