Psychosis in autism: comparison of the features of both conditions in a dually affected cohort [PAPERS]
Conclusions Our data show there may be a specific subtype of ASD linked to comorbid psychosis. The results support findings that psychosis in people with ASD is often atypical, particularly regarding affective disturbance. (Source: The British Journal of Psychiatry)

Association between mental health-related stigma and active help-seeking: systematic review and meta-analysis [Review articles]
Conclusions Personal attitudes towards mental illness or help-seeking are associated with active help-seeking for mental problems. Campaigns promoting help-seeking and fighting mental illness-related stigma should target these personal attitudes rather than broad public opinion. (Source: The British Journal of Psychiatry)

Comparison of diagnostic performance of Two-Question Screen and 15 depression screening instruments for older adults: systematic review and meta-analysis [Review articles]
Conclusions The Two-Question Screen is a simple and short instrument for depression screening. Its diagnostic performance is comparable with other instruments and, therefore, it would be favourable to use it for older adult screening programmes. (Source: The British Journal of Psychiatry)

The virtues of virtual reality in exposure therapy [EDITORIALS]
Virtual reality can be more effective and less burdensome than real-life exposure. Optimal virtual reality delivery should incorporate in situ direct dialogues with a therapist, discourage safety behaviours, allow for a mismatch between virtual and real exposure tasks, and encourage self-directed real-life practice between and beyond virtual reality sessions. Start as you mean to carry on: the emerging evidence base for the treatment of conflict-related mental health difficulties in children and adolescents [EDITORIALS]
In this editorial, we discuss Morina and colleagues' meta-analysis of psychological therapies for youth with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression following conflict. Recent years have seen significantly more randomised controlled trial evidence addressing the needs of this population. More work is needed to understand post-traumatic depression, dissemination, timing of intervention and whether trauma-focused interventions are essential. (Source: The British Journal of Psychiatry)

Autism and schizophrenia: one, two or many disorders? [EDITORIALS]
Autism and psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia co-occur more frequently than would be expected by chance alone. Exactly why this should be remains unclear, but a better understanding would have important implications for diagnosis, treatment and for biological explanations of both conditions.
