Bond degradation resistance of self adhesive sealer bonded to radicular dentin using an alternative adhesive strategy
Conclusions The current study supports the concept that double layering bonding strategy might be successfully adapted to endodontics to optimize bond strength of endodontic self-adhesive sealers to radicular dentin and to reduce nanoleakage. (Source: Tanta Dental Journal)

Evaluation of the antibacterial efficacy of different bioactive lining and pulp capping agents
Conclusion While Biodentin showed the strongest antibacterial properties, the VLC bioactive glass ionomer and calcium hydroxide cements are also effective as standard pulp-capping products in inhibiting the growth of S. mutans organism commonly found at the base of a cavity preparation. Oroantral communication repair using bone substitute and platelets rich fibrin
Publication date: Available online 23 May 2015 Source:Tanta Dental Journal Author(s): M.H. ElShourbagy , M.M. Hussein , M.S. Khedr , S. Abd Elal Purpose The aim of this study is to evaluate oroantral communication (OAC) repair using one bone substitute (Fisiograft) and platelets rich fibrin (PRF). Patients and methods In the present study, eight patients complaining from OAC following extraction of maxillary posterior tooth were selected. The bony defect of the OAC was grafted with Fisiograft sandwiched between two PRF membranes. Then the graft was covered by buccal advancement flap. The patients were followed up...

Marginal accuracy in casting titanium fixed partial dentures
Conclusions Using a magnesia investment, marginal accuracy of cast titanium was evident to be less than that of conventional alloys of simulated FPD restoration. The correlation between thermal expansion and titanium bridge accuracy is still high. (Source: Tanta Dental Journal)

The effect of pre-curing waiting time of different bonding resins on micro-tensile bond strength to dentin
Conclusion i. Thirty-seconds pre-curing waiting time for bonding resins has a role in achieving higher μTBS to dentin. ii. One-step-self-etching bonding system ranked as the lowest bonding system. (Source: Tanta Dental Journal)

Comparison of three-dimensional plate versus double miniplate osteosynthesis for treatment of unfavorable mandibular angle fractures
Conclusion Three-dimensional plate osteosynthesis was comparable to double-miniplate osteosynthesis in fixation of unfavorable mandibular angle fractures. Both systems provided enough stability for proper bone healing, establishment of optimal occlusion, and early return to normal function. (Source: Tanta Dental Journal)

Degree of conversion and surface hardness of bulk-fill composite versus incremental-fill composite
Conclusions X-tra fil showed the most DC performance. Incremental-fill composite showed higher VHN than bulk-fill composites. Differences in DC and VHN values among materials proved to be a material dependent. (Source: Tanta Dental Journal)

Influence of connector dimensions on the stress distribution of monolithic zirconia and lithium-di-silicate inlay retained fixed dental prostheses – A 3D finite element analysis
Conclusion Increasing the connector dimensions up to 4 mm × 4 mm, has a significant improvement in the stress distribution among both materials, making it suitable as a posterior restorative material in all ceramic inlay retained Fixed Dental Prosthesis. Further long term clinical studies are required. (Source: Tanta Dental Journal)

The effect of luting cement type and thickness on stress distribution in upper premolar implant restored with metal ceramic crowns
Conclusions Using thicker cement layer increase its lifetime, in addition to reducing the cortical bone Von Mises stress. While, the effect of cement layer thickness and type on spongy bone, is negligible. (Source: Tanta Dental Journal)

Fibroblasts attachment to CaCl2 hydrothermally treated titanium implant
Conclusions The CaCl2 hydrothermally treated titanium showed lower evidence of fibroblasts attachment than pure titanium did, which means decreasing the liability of fibrosis, and hence, stronger bonding of CaCl2 hydrothermally treated titanium implant to bone (better osseointegration).
