Esthetics and function: a return to the basic concepts: case report
ABSTRACT Immediate esthetic rehabilitation is a common practice in contemporary restorative dentistry. Sometimes without a precise diagnosis and clinical planning, two or three clinical sessions have been sufficient to start and end an extensive all-ceramic oral rehabilitation. It is essential, however, for these treatments to be based on the biological, mechanical, and occlusal principles that have been established for decades, and not only on aesthetic considerations. In this case report, a 26 year-old bruxist patient with functional and aesthetic needs, was rehabilitated with ceramic restorations in the six maxillary an...

Oral and maxillofacial rehabilitation of a patient suffering from intraosseous adenoid cystic carcinoma
ABSTRACT Treatment of cancers of the head and neck may provoke sequelae that affect the quality of life of patients during and after treatment. Mouth-sinus communication resulting from partial or total surgical resection of the palate leads to the patient experiencing dysphagia, dysphonia and trismus, which can lead to social isolation of the individual. As a result, the work of the dental surgeon, together with the multidisciplinary team caring for cancer patients, is fundamental and can help with the diagnosis, assist in the management of chemotherapy and radiotherapy complications and enable postsurgical rehabilitation....

Its preferred location is the anterior maxillary area, most often causing root displacement, more rarely resorption and mostly affects young women. Being asymptomatic, this injury is discovered upon routine radiographic examination, in which, in most cases, a unilocular, radiolucent image is observed and it may have some degree of calcification within the lesion. This work aims to report the case of a 14-year-old patient who attended the Lauro Wanderley University Hospital (UFPB), complaining of increased volume over a period ...
