Simultaneous separation and determination of praeruptorin A, B and C by micellar electrokinetic chromatography using sodium dodecyl sulphate and sodium cholate as mixed micelles
ConclusionThe proposed method has been successfully applied to the simultaneous determination of praeruptorin A, B and C in Peucedani Radix and its pharmaceutical preparations. Additionally, it could be a potential alternative to the quality control of Peucedani Radix. (Source: Phytochemical Analysis)

Metabolic Study of Dioecy in Mauritia flexuosa: NMR ‐based and Chemometric Approaches
ConclusionsNMR spectroscopy and chemometric‐based approach was demonstrated to be useful in the metabolic study of dioecy in M. flexuosa. The extracts of the leaves allowed for differentiation between male and female plants; however, for plants in the vegetative phase, the identification of the gender was not effective. Optimization of Aqueous Extraction from Kalanchoe pinnata Leaves to Obtain the Highest Content of an Anti ‐inflammatory Flavonoid Using a Response Surface Model
ConclusionThe optimized process is faster and spends less energy than the previous one (water; 30 min at 55°C); therefore is greener and more attractive for industrial purposes. This is the first report of extraction optimization of this bioactive flavonoid. Copyright © 2018 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. (Source: Phytochemical Analysis)

Quantification of incensole in three Boswellia species by NIR spectroscopy coupled with PLSR and cross ‐validation by HPLC
ConclusionThe findings are in total agreement with the HPLC analysis suggesting that NIR spectroscopy coupled with PLSR is a robust, rapid and non‐destructive alternate method for the quantification of incensole in B. papyrifera. Copyright © 2018 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. Incensole has received a significant pharmacological interest due to its potent anti‐inflammatory and antidepressant activity in recent years. NIRS coupled with PLSR as a robust and alternative method was used to quantify the content of incensole in three Boswellia species and cross validated by HPLC. The findings obtained were in total agreement ...

Rapid Monitoring of Pharmacological Volatiles of Night ‐Flowering Evening‐Primrose According to Flower Opening or Closing by Fast Gas Chromatography/Surface Acoustic Wave Sensor (Electronic zNose)
ConclusionThe results showed that flower opening is related to the volatiles emission, which is pharmacological and plant defensive. GC/SAW can be a useful analytical method for the rapid monitoring of volatiles of evening‐primrose according to the opening or closing as it provides second unit analysis, as well as simple, and aroma pattern recognition.
