Noninvasive red and near ‐infrared wavelength‐induced photobiomodulation: promoting impaired cutaneous wound healing
Summary
The innumerable intricacies associated with chronic wounds have made the development of new painless, noninvasive, biophysical therapeutic interventions as the focus of current biomedical research. Red and near‐infrared light‐induced photobiomodulation therapy appears to emerge as a promising drug‐free approach for promoting wound healing, reduction in inflammation, pain and restoration of function owing to penetration power in conjunction with their ability to positively modulate the biochemical and molecular responses. This review will describe the physical properties of red and near‐infrared light and th...

Influence of demographic and clinical characteristics of actinic keratosis patients on illness perceptions and readiness to increase sun protection behaviours: an exploratory study
ConclusionAK patients, especially the subjects aged ≥65 years, have non‐skin cancer history and in male gender should be informed to apply sun protective behaviours. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. (Source: Photodermatology, Photoimmunology and Photomedicine)

The tanning habits and interest in sunscreen of Google users: what happened in 12 years?
ConclusionGoogle Trends data can act as a first surrogate marker to evaluate the influence of skin cancer campaigns on the popularity of tanning beds and sunscreen. Fine‐tuning of skin cancer campaigns according to seasonal and geographic trends and behaviors may help to maximize their success. (Source: Photodermatology, Photoimmunology and Photomedicine)

Correlates of sun protection behaviors among Hispanic children residing in a high UVR environment
ConclusionFamily sun protection habits are instrumental to Hispanic children's sun safe behaviors, and interventions that engage the family may be most effective. Increasing risk communication to high‐risk subgroups of Hispanic children (those with lighter, more sun reactive skin) is important when developing intervention strategies. However, there is overlap between Hispanic children's sun protection correlates and those observed among non‐Hispanic white children, suggesting that interventions to improve sun protection may generalize across cultural contexts.
