Pseudomyxoma peritonei originating from appendix tumors
Conclusion Despite the great progress we have witnessed in recent years, which have led to a large increase in survival rates, more research needs to be done, on what to do when the disease is in an unresectable stage. Finding a less aggressive therapy than cytoreductive surgery+hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy will be an important step forward. (Source: Journal of Coloproctology)

Lessons from the first 70 patients operated by doppler-guided haemorrhoidal artery ligation with mucopexy in a French team specialising in surgical proctology
Conclusion Doppler-guided haemorrhoidal artery ligation with mucopexy is an effective technique in the medium-term. Good tolerance in makes this treatment an attractive alternative to conventional haemorrhoidectomy. (Source: Journal of Coloproctology)

Surgical and oncological short-term outcomes of prone extralevator abdominoperineal excision for low rectal cancer
Conclusion Prone extralevator abdominoperineal excision is comparable to standard abdominoperineal resection. It was associated to a decrease in length of hospital stay and readmission rate, although more perineal complications occurred. We cannot recommend it as a standard technique for all low rectal cancer. Notwithstanding, prone extralevator abdominoperineal excision can be considered a more radical approach when there is sphincter complex or levators muscles invasion. Screening anal cancer in women living with HIV/AIDS

Enterovesical fistula caused by ileal primary adenocarcinoma
Conclusion The relative inaccessibility of the small bowel and the malignant neoplasms’ non-specific symptoms make an early diagnosis difficult. Discovery of the disease, often only at an advanced stage, results in complications and less effective therapy. The laparoscopic approach might be advantageous and effective in the treatment of advanced small bowel cancer with invasion of adjacent structures. (Source: Journal of Coloproctology)
