Medicines management issues in dementia and coping strategies used by people living with dementia and family carers: A systematic review
ConclusionsMedicines management is a complex set of activities and although current coping strategies exists, these were primarily used by family carers or the person with dementia ‐carer dyad. Health and social care practitioners and researchers should seek to understand in‐depth the “mechanisms of action” of existing coping strategies and actively involve people with dementia as co‐producers of knowledge to underpin any further work on medicines management. ConclusionsThe most important indicator of cognitive performance in depression appears to be current, rather than historic depression severity; however, late ‐onset depression may be associated with more executive impairment than an early‐onset depression. Length of hospital stay seems to be influenced by a variety of medical, social, organizational factors, including reasons for hospital admission, whose role should be explored in detail in further research. It is necessary to assess suicide risk and depression when examining patients with physical illness or when prescribing psychotropic drugs. Does the Geriatric Depression Scale measure depression in Parkinson's disease?
ConclusionsTaken together, our findings suggest that the GDS and its subscales appear to primarily measure anxiety, apathy, and fatigue in PD, or alternatively, these symptom dimensions may be predominant in PD ‐depression. Religious delusions in older adults: Diagnoses, combinations, and delusional characteristics
ConclusionsThe current study suggests that the prevalence of RDs in older adults is particularly high in late life psychotic depression. Also, in later life, RDs can be perceived of as independent marker of complex psychotic states, and as a denominator of severe arousal with respect to existential concerns.
