Risk of dementia associated with cardiometabolic abnormalities and depressive symptoms: A longitudinal cohort study using the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing
ConclusionsThis work confirms depressive symptoms as a risk factor for incident dementia. However, low HDL ‐cholesterol with depressive symptoms may be protective against dementia, though more work is required to confirm this association (Source: International Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry)

Prevalence and associated factors of elder abuse in family caregivers of older people with dementia in central China: a cross ‐sectional study
ConclusionThis was a study conducted to examine the risk of the abuse of older people with dementia by family caregivers in central China. Elder abuse is prevalent among people with dementia. The present results confirmed the need to focus on family caregiver burden, coping styles and social support in future interventions to prevent elder abuse. Socioeconomic Factors and the Risk of Cognitive Decline Among the Elderly Population in Japan

Concomitant use of benzodiazepines and opioids in community ‐dwelling older people with or without Alzheimer's disease – A nationwide register‐based study in Finland
