Minimally Invasive Medialising Calcaneal Osteotomy (MIMCO)
ConclusionsMIMCO provides surgeons with a safe and reliable tool to correct hindfoot deformities that is comparable to the open procedure but with added potential advantages of decreased postoperative pain, wound complications and iatrogenic injury to neurovascular structures.

The Treatment of Posterior Tibial Tendon Insufficiency Using the Double Heel Osteotomy and Soft Tissue Reconstruction: The “All-American Procedure”
ConclusionsThe combination of a double heel osteotomy (LCL and MCO) and a soft tissue reconstruction (FDL transfer and HCL) has proven to be an excellent operation for supple PTTI in our practice for 25 years in approximately 1000 patients. Paying careful attention to the described details of the LCL portion of the procedure improves the results of the reconstruction. Removal of the LCL screw and any remaining osteophytes at the calcaneocuboid joint seems to solve the problem of lateral column pain and some overcorrection after the initial procedure.ZusammenfassungHintergrundZahlreiche Behandlungsoptionen wurden für die T...

ZEVO (Z-shaped Elongating Varisating Ostetomy) an Ostetomy Technique for Pes Plano Abducto Valgus
ConclusionsThe technique has been in use for more than 20 years in AFFD reconstruction. No lateral sided symptoms were observed as with other calcaneal lengthening procedures. The ZEVO appears to be more powerful and corrective than an isolated medial translation of the tuberosityly or lateral lenghtening. Delayed diagnosis and successful interdisciplinary treatment of a pleomorphic leiomyosarcoma of the ankle
Publication date: Available online 31 December 2019Source: Fuß & SprunggelenkAuthor(s): Andreas Toepfer, Moritz Schöneich, Primoz Potocnik, Carolin Mogler, Kay-Bernd LannerSummaryLumps and bumps around the foot and ankle are frequent but true neoplasia of the musculoskeletal system is rare and soft tissue sarcomas account for only 1% of all malignancies. Considering the proportional mass of this area, the foot and ankle are affected more frequently by neoplasia than the rest of the musculoskeletal system. Nevertheless, correct diagnosis is often delayed, and unplanned resection of soft tissue sarcomas is not uncommon. Du...
