Labile iron pool as a parameter to monitor iron overload and oxidative stress status in β‐thalassemic erythrocytes
Conclusions: The LIP assay is suggested as an alternative test to monitor the magnitude of iron overload and its consequent oxidative stress in β‐thalassemia. LIP level may also be used as a marker for therapeutic response to iron chelation treatment. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. A control for the day ‐to‐day normalization of the flow cytometry γ‐H2AX assay for clinical routine
Conclusion: The mix‐control sample, consisting of 10 control individuals' PBMC, can be used as a control sample to normalize for day‐to‐day variation of the γ‐H2AX assay. The use of this sample will facilitate integration of the γ‐H2AX assay into clinical routine. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. Flow Cytometric False Myeloperoxidase ‐positive Childhood B‐Lineage Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
Conclusions: The cause of false‐positive MPO staining remains unknown in these three cases; a cross reactivity could be the culprit. Caution should be given to similar phenomena and detailed investigation may contribute to the understanding of altered protein expression in such outlier cases.
