Prehospital Ticagrelor in Patients with ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction with Long Transport Time to Primary PCI Facility
Pre-hospital ticagrelor, given less than 1h before coronary intervention (PCI), failed to improve coronary reperfusion in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients undergoing primary PCI. It is unknown whether a longer interval from ticagrelor administration to primary PCI might reveal any improvement of coronary reperfusion. (Source: Cardiovascular Revascularization Medicine)

Routine use of bilateral internal thoracic artery grafting in women: a risk factor analysis for poor outcomes
Concerns about increased risk of postoperative complications, primarily deep sternal wound infection (DSWI), prevent liberal use of bilateral internal thoracic artery (BITA) grafting in women. Consequently, outcomes after routine BITA grafting remain largely unexplored in female gender. (Source: Cardiovascular Revascularization Medicine)

A single center experience of Zilver PTX for femoro-popliteal lesions
Clinical trial data show overall favorable outcomes of paclitaxel-eluting stents for treatment of femoro-popliteal (FP) occlusive disease. However, external validity of trial results may be restricted to less complex FP lesions, and limited data on outcomes of paclitaxel-eluting stents in real world practice have been published. Association of Radial versus Femoral Access with Contrast-Induced Acute Kidney Injury in Patients Undergoing Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention for ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction
Patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) are at an increased risk of developing contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI). Data on the association between transradial (TRA) vs. transfemoral (TFA) access and the risk of CI-AKI in this setting are limited. (Source: Cardiovascular Revascularization Medicine)

Accessory Renal Arteries: Prevalence in Resistant Hypertension and an Important Role in Nonresponse to Radiofrequency Renal Denervation
The aim of this study was to understand the role of accessory renal arteries in resistant hypertension, and to establish their role in nonresponse to radiofrequency renal denervation (RDN) procedures. (Source: Cardiovascular Revascularization Medicine)

Immediate and intermediate-term results of optical coherence tomography guided atherectomy in the treatment of peripheral arterial disease: Initial results from the VISION trial
Long-term patency rates for percutaneous peripheral arterial interventions are suboptimal. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) guided atherectomy may yield superior patency by optimizing plaque removal while preserving the tunica media and adventitia. Ventricular fibrillation with intracoronary adenosine during fractional flow reserve assessment
Fractional flow reserve (FFR) measurement provides useful hemodynamic assessment of intermediate coronary stenoses affecting long term outcomes. While the gold standard remains intravenous adenosine, intracoronary (IC) bolus administration of adenosine is routinely used in clinical practice because of its ease of use and lower dose providing comparative hyperemia with the most common side effect being a transient atrioventricular block. A 62year old male underwent left heart catheterization after ruling in for non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI). (Source: Cardiovascular Revascularization Medicine)
