The Effect of Parasocial Interaction on Intention to Register as Organ Donors Through Entertainment-Education Programs in Korea
This study is based on the theory of reasoned action and self-efficacy, and it examines the mediating role of attitude, subjective norm, and self-efficacy between parasocial interaction and the intention to donate organs. Judgment sampling was used and 329 respondents were participated in the survey. Participants consisted of 102 males (30.9%) and 227 females (69.1%), and their ages ranged from 13 to 77 years. Social Capital and Depression: Does Household Context Matter?
The purpose of this study is 2-fold: (1) to examine how much variance of depression is attributed to the household level and (2) to examine the relationships between individual- and household-level social capital and depression using multilevel analysis from the Korean Welfare Panel Study data. Gender-Based Seasonality of Suicide in Japan, 2005-2012
This study aimed to explore the gender-based seasonal patterns of suicide in Japan between 2005 and 2012. With data from Japanese official reports, we carried out Prais–Winsten regression and Wilcoxon signed-rank test analysis with Stata 12.0 and SPSS 14.0. The suicide number was significantly higher in March, April, May, June, July, and October for both genders. The suicide number in men was markedly higher than that in women in every month. Symptoms of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Depression, and Anxiety Among Junior High School Students in Worst-Hit Areas 3 Years After the Wenchuan Earthquake in China
The aim of this study was to examine symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and anxiety among junior high school students in worst-hit areas 3 years after the Wenchuan earthquake. Analyses were carried out on 373 of the 377 students enrolled. In addition to obtaining demographic characteristics, the Impact of Event Scale–Revised, the Zung Self-rating Depression Scale, the Zung Self-rating Anxiety Scale, and an Earthquake exposure screening scale were administered. Relationships Between Perceived Stigma, Coping Orientations, Self-esteem, and Quality of Life in Patients With Schizophrenia
This study examined how perceived stigma and coping orientations of secrecy, withdrawal, and education were related to schizophrenic patients’ self-esteem and quality of life (QOL). Measuring Positive Mental Health: Development of the Achutha Menon Centre Positive Mental Health Scale
