Timing and impact of decisions to adjust disease ‐modifying antirheumatic drug therapy for rheumatoid arthritis patients with active disease
ConclusionAdjusting DMARDs within 90 days was associated with shorter times to LDAS, but many patients with persistent MHDAS waited more than 90 days to adjust DMARDs. Interventions are needed to address the timeliness of DMARD adjustments for RA patients with MHDAS.This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. (Source: Arthritis Care and Research)

Rheumatoid Arthritis Treatment After Methotrexate: The Durability of Triple Therapy Versus Etanercept
ConclusionIn RA patients with suboptimal methotrexate response randomized to receive triple therapy or methotrexate‐etanercept, the former was found to be significantly more durable. Given cost differences and similar outcomes, the variable durability demonstrated provides additional evidence supporting conventional combinations over biologic agent combinations as the first choice after methotrexate inadequate response. Medical expenditures and earnings losses among US adults with arthritis in 2013
ConclusionTotal national arthritis‐attributable medical care expenditures and earnings losses among adults with arthritis were $303.5 billion in 2013. High arthritis‐attributable medical expenditures might be reduced by greater efforts to reduce pain and improve function. The high earnings losses were largely attributable to the substantially lower prevalence of working among those with arthritis compared with those without, signaling the need for interventions that keep people with arthritis in the work force. This article is protected by copyright.
