Job satisfaction, demands of immigration among international nursing staff working in the long-term care setting: A cross-sectional study
With a global shortage of nurses, countries worldwide are facing this increasing demand in nursing workforce coupled with the increasing aging population in their respective countries (Lintern, 2013, Sonenshine, 2014, Yun, Jie,& Anli, 2010). Current demographical studies show that people having longer life expectancy therefore require more healthcare support (World Health Organisation, 2015). In UK, for example, there are at least 4 million older adults suffering from at least one limiting longstanding illness (Age UK, 2016). (Source: Applied Nursing Research : ANR)

Leadership tenure is related to aide turnover in US assisted living facilities: Cross-sectional secondary data analysis
The United States is experiencing a growing demand for residential long term care from a rapidly increasing aging population with greater longevity. Responding to this demand, the number of assisted living facilities (ALFs) is growing and ALFs as a residential care option are gaining in popularity. The acuity of ALF residents is also increasing through a combination of “aging in place” and higher acuity on admission (Kissam, Gifford, Mor and Patry, 2003). This has been occurring alongside a decrease in the number of nursing home beds (Mollica et al., 2012). (Source: Applied Nursing Research : ANR)

Organizational culture among levels of health care services in Crete (Greece)
As a concept, organizational culture is multifaceted and it has been studied in fields ranging from social anthropology to industrial-organizational psychology (Schein, 2010) defined as the set of beliefs, values, behavioral patterns, and assumptions shared by members of an organization (Cooke& Rousseau, 1998; Jacobs& Roodt, 2008; Scott, Mannion, Huw,& Marshall, 2003). Strategies to engage older adults with behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia in exercise: A multiple case study
Alzheimer's disease (AD) affects 5.2 million Americans in 2016, and this number will increase to 14.7 million by 2050 unless effective treatments are established (Alzheimer's Association, 2016). Currently, AD cannot be slowed, prevented, or cured; however, aerobic exercise interventions have shown increasing promise for improving or maintaining cognition and functional status in persons with AD (Ledford, 2016; Zheng et al., 2016). Recent advances in mechanistic studies of aerobic exercise in AD suggest that the therapeutic role that aerobic exercise plays in stabilizing or improving cognition in AD may be grounded in its a...

Quality and Safety Research: Recommendations From the Quality and Safety Education for Nursing (QSEN) Institute
The Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) Institute is focused on uniting academia and practice to “Move the Mission” of delivering high quality, safe nursing care. The QSEN Institute provides resources to support a lifelong learning commitment to ensure that nurses work to improve care. In 2005 the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation provided initial funding to prepare all nurses with the knowled ge, skills, and attitudes necessary to continuously improve the quality and safety of the healthcare systems in which they work. Nursing Leadership and Research on Patient Outcomes: Moving the Profession Forward toward Better Understanding of Our Nursing Work
No question here is a plethora of leadership books, opinions and measurement tools. There is even a significant body of research on characteristics of nurse leaders. Along with colleagues I have spent years studying and teaching nurses to be leaders at the point of care and at all levels of positional power. Based on the accumulation of research on nurse leaders, we know the positive effects of leadership on nurses. We know that empowered and engaged nurses are more likely to say in the profession, and are more satisfied in their jobs. (Source: Applied Nursing Research : ANR)

The impact of biological frailty syndrome on quality of life of nursing home residents
Increased longevity is a social success that also implicitly entails enormous challenges: adding years to life often implies the management of more geriatric syndromes and higher mortality and disability rates. Although disease and disability are not inevitable consequences of human ageing, the risk of being affected by them considerably increases with age (Baltes& Smith, 2003). Interprofessional collaboration in nursing homes (interprof): A grounded theory study of nurse experiences of general practitioner visits
Improvement of long term care for older people is indisputably one of the great challenges in healthcare debated in Germany and other Western countries. Interprofessional collaboration can lead to positive changes in healthcare in general, and improved interprofessional care can more specifically benefit nursing home residents (Nazir et al., 2013; Renz& Carrington, 2016; Zwarenstein, Goldman,& Reeves, 2009). To obtain a deeper understanding of the current interprofessional collaboration in the delivery of medical care in German nursing homes, we explored the perspectives of the involved persons. The effect of sustained nursing consulting via telephone (Tele Nursing) on the quality of life in hypertensive patients
Hypertension is considered as one of the most common chronic conditions in the public health with an increasing trend in the developing countries. Nearly 25% of adults have high blood pressure. Noticeably, high blood pressure has a negative impact on the quality of life of patients with high blood pressure because of its high prevalence and high mortality rate in these patients (Samavat, Hojatzadeh,& Naderi, 2001). Studies have shown that the prevalence of the hypertension is increasing in all countries, including Iran (Sotodeh asl, Neshat-Dust, Kalantari, Talebi,& Khosravi, 2010).
