Combined apparent diffusion coefficient value (ADC) and 1H magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) in breast lesions: Benefits and limitations
ConclusionA great advantage of ADC value is the significant difference between benign and malignant lesions, because of this it plays an important role in characterization of breast lesions. MRS is the only in vivo technique which can detect tissue metabolites. In our study combined MRS with ADC value increased sensitivity in detecting lesions, while the specificity remained at lower level than that of the ADC value alone. Diagnostic interplay of proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy and diffusion weighted images with apparent diffusion coefficient values in suspicious breast lesions
ConclusionThe combined use of DW-MRI with quantitative ADC data and single-voxel 1H-MRS is a reliable non-contrast tool that provides higher accuracy in characterizing suspicious breast, and can efficiently be used in the absence of DCE-MRI. Role of color Doppler ultrasonography and multidetector computed tomography angiography in diagnosis of uterine arteriovenous malformations
ConclusionDoppler US can strongly suggest the presence of AVM but patient should undergo CT angiography for definitive diagnosis and possible embolization, as CTA helps in providing valuable cross sectional anatomical details about the lesion, its extent and its surroundings. MRI is it complementary or mandatory to ultrasound in classification of different congenital anomalies of female reproductive tract?
ConclusionThe use of diverse imaging modalities, in conjunction with clinical information, provided important clues to the diagnosis of MDAs. The imaging work-up for MDAs usually begins with ultrasound. Although it might have been suffice to detect the presence of a uterine abnormality, MRI was generally needed to classify the abnormality into a specific MDA category. Congestive heart failure as a rare cause of unilateral breast edema: A case report & review of the literature
Publication date: Available online 7 June 2018Source: The Egyptian Journal of Radiology and Nuclear MedicineAuthor(s): Mohamed Abd El-Aziz M. Farag, Latifa Ahmad Alkandary, Maryam Ibrahim Alshatti, Maged Ali H. ShoukeerAbstractReported cases encountered difficulty in differentiating between inflammatory carcinoma and breast edema caused by congestive heart failure especially if the breast edema is unilateral. Our presented case is an elderly woman with unilateral breast edema due to congestive heart failure that was initially suspected to have breast cancer based on clinical findings. However imaging studies showed breast ...
