MR imaging and clinical features associated with intraoperative hemorrhage during laparoscopic myomectomy
This study included 126 patients clinically and pathologically diagnosed as uterine leiomyoma between 2010 and 2015. These findings were statistically compared between significant intraoperative hemorrhage group (greater than 300 ml) and nonsignificant intraoperative hemorrhage group (less than 300 ml). Correlation between the maximum diameter of resected leiomyomas and the maximum diameter leiomyomas on MR imaging were also evaluated. Significant hemorrhage group showed larger maximum diameter of resected leiomyoma (p = 0.01), larger maximum diameter of leiomyoma on MR imaging (p = 0.01) and have cellular leio...

Evaluation of radiation – Induced carotid artery stenosis after supraclavicular irradiation in patients with breast carcinoma
ConclusionSupraclavicular irradiation may play a role in the pathogenesis of carotid stenosis in about 1/3 of breast carcinoma patients. The presence of co-morbidity has an additive role in radiation induced CAS. This stresses the importance of regular examination of the carotid artery by duplex ultrasonography. Every effort should be considered to minimize the dose to carotid artery within the clinical target volume by its proper delineation especially in high risk patients. Gel foam or microsphere particles for partial splenic artery embolization in managing patients with hypersplenism
ConclusionPSE using gel foam or microsphere showed nearly the same efficacy with no significant difference between the improvement in laboratory tests. However, using microsphere particles was associated with fewer occurrences of serious complications when compared with using gel foam. (Source: The Egyptian Journal of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine)
