Characterization of sweat induced with pilocarpine, physical exercise, and collected passively by metabolomic analysis
ConclusionsPrincipal component analysis (PCA) shows that both physical exercise and pilocarpine methods seem to be equally reproducible methods in terms of sweat metabolite composition presenting better repeatability than natural sweat collection. Nevertheless, this difference is mainly originated from amino acids with origin from the skin surface. (Source: Skin Research and Technology)

In vivo reflectance confocal microscopy in daily practice: Image features correlated to histopathology
ConclusionFeatures correlating well to histopathology are observed on RCM. RCM can be used as an auxiliary diagnosis tool for the clinical diagnosis. (Source: Skin Research and Technology)

In vitro determination of Mexican Mestizo hair shaft diameter using optical coherence tomography
ConclusionMexican hair is similar to Asian hair in diameter and shape and can be classified as ‘thick’ hair, which make it more resistant and with more volume. Cosmetic products intended to improve hair care in this population must to consider this characteristic. (Source: Skin Research and Technology)

An overview of methods to mitigate artifacts in optical coherence tomography imaging of the skin
ConclusionClinical dermatologists benefit from using these image enhancement algorithms to improve OCT diagnosis and essentially function as a noninvasive optical biopsy. (Source: Skin Research and Technology)

Principal component analysis of three ‐dimensional face shape: Identifying shape features that change with age
ConclusionPrincipal component analysis was effective for identifying facial shape features that represent individual and age‐related differences. This method allowed straightforward measurements, such as the increase or decrease in cheeks caused by soft tissue changes or skeletal‐based changes to the forehead or jaw, simply by acquiring three‐dimensional facial images. Analysis of the influence of collagen fibres in the dermis on skin optical reflectance by Monte Carlo simulation in a nine ‐layered skin model
ConclusionWhen collagen fibre density in the upper dermis is decreased with age, skin colour becomes less bright because light scattering in the skin is decreased. (Source: Skin Research and Technology)
