Assessment of 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET positivity predictive factors in prostate cancer
Conclusions68Ga-PSMA-11 PET shows a high disease detection rate in patients where other techniques showed negative or doubtful images. Almost 50% of patients with prostate cancer biochemical recurrence and low PSA levels (<1 ng/ml) have active disease on 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET, precisely where other radiotracers lack sensitivity.

Is it possible NET-redifferentiation after chemotherapy? Ga68 DOTA-peptide imaging as a game-changer in therapy management
Publication date: Available online 27 November 2018Source: Revista Española de Medicina Nuclear e Imagen Molecular (English Edition)Author(s): Nurhan Ergül, Tevfik Fikret Çermik, Nevra DursunAbstractA 64-year-old man with pancreatic grade III neuroendocrine carcinoma underwent Ga-68 DOTANOC PET-CT scan for staging. The pancreatic lesion, multiple peripancreatic lymph nodes and multiple gross metastases in both hepatic lobes were revealed with intense uptake. After 3 cycles of chemotherapy containing cisplatin and etoposide the primary and metastatic lesions were decreased in size, however showing higher uptake on follow...

18F-fdg pet/ct in staging and delineation of radiotherapy volume for head and neck cancer
Conclusions18F-FDG PET/CT reclassification was higher than 10% in almost all categories studied (cTNM, tumor extension and nodal disease) and detects more metastases and synchronous tumors than conventional studies, which has an impact on the therapeutic patient management and RT planning.

Tumor characteristics of lung cancer in predicting axillary lymph node metastases
ConclusionThe finding of ALM on PET/CT images, the necessity of histopathologic confirmation is determined according to the results of primary tumor localization, primary tumor histopathology, M stage on PET/CT imaging, localization of ALM according to primary tumor, and N stage on PET/CT imaging.

Clinical usefulness of two-phase 18F-sodium-fluoride (18F-NaF) bone PET/CT for evaluating treatment response of bone metastases from breast cancer: Case report
We report the case of a breast cancer patient in whom a two-phase 18F-sodium-fluoride (18F-NaF) bone PET/CT was useful for detecting hidden bone metastases and assessing treatment response. The patient underwent a two-phase bone PET/CT to evaluate a newly developed lesion found on bone scintigraphy following surgery. In the perfusion and bone phase PET/CT images, focally increased perfusion and bony uptake were found in the sacrum and L5 vertebra, suggesting bone metastases of breast cancer. Therefore, the patient subsequently underwent palliative treatment. In another two PET/CT studies (each including two-phase bone imag...

68Ga-DOTATOC PET/CT in the localization of metastatic extra-adrenal paraganglioma and pheochromocytoma compared with 18F-DOPA PET/CT
Conclusion68Ga-DOTA-TOC PET offers the highest detection rate in metastatic extra-adrenal PGL and PHEO compared to 18F-DOPA PET and even to diagnostic CT, particularly in bone lesions. Combined functional/anatomical imaging (68Ga-DOTA-TOC PET/CT) enables exact tumour extension to be detected in these rare tumour entities, especially in the case of unclear anatomical correlation.

Next generation of radiotracers for sentinel lymph node biopsy: What is still necessary to establish new imaging paradigms?
Publication date: Available online 1 November 2018Source: Revista Española de Medicina Nuclear e Imagen Molecular (English Edition)Author(s): Sergi Vidal-Sicart, David R. Vera, Renato A. Valdés OlmosAbstractSentinel lymph node (SLN) biopsy is now the standard of care for regional staging in several solid tumors. The interstitial administration of a radiotracer around the primary tumor provide the possibility to sequentially obtain images with a gamma camera and visualize lymphatic mapping and the SLN. There is, however, a large geographical variability in those radiotracers and nanocolloids ranging from 15 to 100 nm...

Comparison of four methods for quantitative assessment of 99mTc-MDP SPECT in patients with suspected condylar hyperplasia
ConclusionFive-image fixed-size ROI provides the best intra-operator and inter-operator reliability for the diagnosis of unilateral condylar hyperplasia. In the four methods using normalized counts fewer positive cases were detected (≥10%), unlike with total counts when more positive cases were found.
