Gastroschisis in Europe – A Case‐malformed‐Control Study of Medication and Maternal Illness during Pregnancy as Risk Factors
ConclusionsWhile it is difficult to disentangle the effects of the medication and underlying indication, our results add to the evidence base on preventable risk factors for gastroschisis. These risk factors may contribute to the higher risk among young mothers, and geographical and temporal variation in prevalence. (Source: Paediatric and Perinatal Epidemiology)

A Two ‐Step Approach for Analysis of Nonignorable Missing Outcomes in Longitudinal Regression: an Application to Upstate KIDS Study
ConclusionsThe two‐step approach is a computationally straightforward method that can be conducted as sensitivity analyses in longitudinal studies to examine violations to the ignorable missingness assumption and the implications relative to health outcomes. Prevalence and Contributors to Low ‐grade Inflammation in Three U.S. Populations of Reproductive Age Women
ConclusionsLow‐grade inflammation was common, including among predominantly non‐obese women, affecting from 20 to 40% of reproductive age women. Given the potential to reduce inflammation through inexpensive, widely available therapies, examination of the impact of chronic inflammation on reproductive and pregnancy outcomes, as well as preventive interventions, are now needed. Prevalence of Autism Spectrum Disorders with and without Intellectual Disability by Gestational Age at Birth in the Stockholm Youth Cohort: a Register Linkage Study
ConclusionsThe relationship between gestational age at birth and ASD differs by the presence/absence of co‐occurring ID and fetal sex. Both preterm and postterm birth are associated with increased risk of ASD. Risk of ASD is not constant within conventionally defined gestational age at birth periods. Further research on mechanism underlying these associations is needed. (Source: Paediatric and Perinatal Epidemiology)

Outcomes of Gallstone Disease during Pregnancy: a Population ‐based Data Linkage Study
ConclusionsGallstone disease during pregnancy was associated with adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes. Most women with gallstone disease during pregnancy are managed conservatively. Surgical management was associated with decreased risk of readmission. (Source: Paediatric and Perinatal Epidemiology)

Maternal Body Mass Index and Regional Anaesthesia Use at Term: Prevalence and Complications
ConclusionLabouring women in higher BMI categories were more likely to receive regional anaesthesia and more likely to deliver via caesarean compared to normal weight women and women without regional anaesthesia. Rates of anaesthesia complications were highest among women in the highest BMI category. (Source: Paediatric and Perinatal Epidemiology)
