Abstract The nursing profession is focused on serving others and has high expectations that each member behaves professionally and ethically, as articulated in nursing codes of practice and conduct. Where these are not upheld, inappropriate and unprofessional workplace behaviors follow. The aim of this qualitative study was to explore Iranian nurses’ experiences of professional communication between colleagues in the e...

Motherhood in the shade of migration: A qualitative study of the experience of Syrian refugee mothers living in Turkey
Abstract Turkey receives the largest number of Syrian refugees in the world. Some of these refugee women become mothers in Turkey. Survivors' perceptions of public health messages during an Ebola crisis in Liberia and Sierra Leone: An exploratory study
In this study, we employed an interpretive, qualitative design to explore participant experiences. Twenty five survivors who had recovered from Ebola were recruited from three villages in Liberia and Sierra Leone in August 2015. Data were collected using semistructured interviews. Data analysis revealed four themes: (i) degrees of mistrust; (ii) messages conflicting with life and culture; (iii) seeing is believing; and (iv) recovery inspires hope. The findings were explored in the context of the relevant literature. The themes highlight the need to develop culturally‐appropriate messages, underpinned by a sound understan...

Exploring research cultures through internationalization at home for doctoral students in Hong Kong and Sweden
Abstract Cultural skills are fundamental to developing global academic scholars. Internationalization at home can facilitate the acquisition of these skills without students having to go abroad. However, research on the effect of internationalization of higher education is scarce, despite apparent benefits to incorporating cultural sensitivity in research. Further, little is known about the role information and communication technology plays. In this pilot study, we describe the experience of doctoral students with an internationalization‐at‐home program, and its impact on developing an understanding about different re...
