Comparative study of positive versus negative autologous serum skin test in chronic spontaneous urticaria and its treatment outcome
Conclusion: ASST is considered a screening test for AIU, which decreases the rate of diagnosis of "idiopathic" form of CU. ASST-positive patients in addition to antihistamines, were treated with short course of oral steroids and weekly Histaglobulin injections for 5 weeks followed by the 3 rd and 6 th months. Troponin T in patients with traumatic chest injuries with and without cardiac involvement: Insights from an observational study
Conclusions: Positive TnT in blunt TCI patients is a common challenge, particularly in polytrauma cases. Patients with positive TnT tend to have the worst outcome even in the absence of clinical evidence of acute cardiac involvement. Positive TnT is also a reflection of the severity of chest or extrathoracic injuries; however, further prospective studies are warranted. (Source: North American Journal of Medical Sciences)

Development of nasopalatine duct cyst in relation to dental implant placement
Conclusion: Placement of dental implants can induce development of NPDCs, indicating that placement of dental implants requires well-trained specialists with perfect skills in dental implantology. Additionally, critical selection of appropriate cases is of great importance in order to avoid the development of such complications. (Source: North American Journal of Medical Sciences)

Endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration of pancreatic lesions: A systematic review of technical and procedural variables
Bhairvi S Jani, Fadi Rzouq, Shreyas Saligram, Diego Lim, Amit Rastogi, John Bonino, Mojtaba OlyaeeNorth American Journal of Medical Sciences 2016 8(1):1-11Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-guided tissue acquisition has emerged over the last decade as an invaluable diagnostic tool in approaching the different pancreatic lesions. Given the safety and minimal invasiveness of this approach combined with the high diagnostic yield, it became the standard of care when dealing with different pancreatic pathologies. However, some variables regarding this procedure remain not fully understood. These can influence the diagnostic yield of t...

Cortical hemiballism: A case of hemiballismus associated with parietal lobe infarct
Conclusion: Lesions affecting various areas outside the STN can cause hemiballism and usually carries a good prognosis with spontaneous resolution. Acute thrombolytic therapy may be considered on an individual basis. Treatment with antipsychotics can be useful for severe and recurring symptoms. A pilot study of the inability to fit hands around neck as a predictor of obstructive sleep apnea
Conclusion: As we hypothesized, ESAP positive (inability to span neck) was predictive of OSA in a population of sleep clinic patients. An ESAP positive test was 100% predictive of the presence of OSA (AHI of ≥5). ESAP shows promise for ease of clinical use to predict the presence of OSA in a general sleep clinic population. Clinical manifestations and predictors of thrombocytopenia in hospitalized adults with dengue fever
Conclusions: Though thrombocytopenia on admission was associated with the presence of rash, high AST and ALT levels, and low albumin levels, it was not predictive of length of hospitalization. Duration of hospital stay was longer with the presence of diarrhea, abdominal pain, ascites, and low hemoglobin level on admission. (Source: North American Journal of Medical Sciences)
