Ease of Fill Port Access During the Ultrasound ‐Guided vs. the Blind Refill Technique of Intrathecal Drug Delivery Systems With a Raised Septum, a Prospective Comparison Study
ConclusionsThe results of this study suggest that for a RS‐IDDS the blind refill technique needs significantly less attempts to enter the reservoir fill port than the US‐guided refill technique. (Source: Neuromodulation)

Rechargeable Internal Pulse Generators as Initial Neurostimulators for Deep Brain Stimulation in Patients With Movement Disorders
ConclusionsChoosing a r‐IPG during initial DBS surgery is safe and associated with a low number of adverse events even in older patients. The vast majority of patients consider handling and recharging the IPG as “easy.” Most of the patients undergoing DBS for movement disorders will benefit from the advantages of r‐IPGs. Neurophysiological Comparison Among Tonic, High Frequency, and Burst Spinal Cord Stimulation: Novel Insights Into Spinal and Brain Mechanisms of Action
ConclusionTBS modulates medial and lateral pain pathways through distinct mechanisms, possibly involving both GABA(a)ergic and Glutamatergic networks at an intracortical level. These results may have implications for therapy and for the choice of best stimulation protocol. (Source: Neuromodulation)

Noninvasive Electrical Stimulation for the Treatment of Chronic Ocular Pain and Photophobia
DiscussionOur data indicate that TENS may similarly provide analgesia in patients with dry eye symptoms as it does for many other chronic pain conditions. Furthermore, the noted effect on symptoms of photophobia and dryness suggest that all may be linked by similar trigeminal–thalamic–cortical pathways. Prospective studies with electrical stimulation of dry eye are needed to further elucidate its benefit and mechanism of action. (Source: Neuromodulation)

Does Psychological Disturbance Predict Explantation in Successful Pelvic Neuromodulation Treatment for Bladder Dysfunction? A Short Series
ConclusionsPsychological/psychiatric disturbance have possibly affected the treatment outcome and explantation of SNM in our patients despite a high success in resolution of the urinary symptoms. Addressing such disturbances when determining patient eligibility for SNM therapy could reduce the explantation rate after a successful therapeutic response, and is an interesting point of interest for future research into predictors of successful SNM implantation and therapy. Thalamic Deep Brain Stimulation for Essential Tremor Also Reduces Voice Tremor
ConclusionsUnilateral and bilateral Vim‐DBS targeted to treat the motor component of essential tremor also dramatically decreased the amplitude of voice tremor in this group of patients, suggesting a potential benefit of this treatment for affected patients. (Source: Neuromodulation)
