Mental Health and Social Services in Schools: Variations by School Characteristics —United States, 2014
This study reported on specific mental health and social services practices overall and by school demographics in U.S. schools using data from the 2014 School Health Policies and Practices Study, a cross-sectional study of a nationally representative sample of schools with any of grades kindergarten through twelve, and an extant source of school demographics. Differences in mental health and social services staffing, facilities/equipment, and services were observed across school demographics. Stigma against mental illness: Perspectives of mental health service users
This study aimed to understand the perception, management and experience of stigma among people with mental illness in Japan. Interviews with people with mental illness were conducted and the data were analysed using grounded theory approach. The results showed that participants’ major concerns appeared to obtain or keep a job, and being regarded as ‘abnormal’. Overall, there were more affinities rather than differences between Japan and Western countries, whilst some cultural factors which seem to be related to the differences are also discussed. Pathways in prevention –subgroups in an early preventive intervention program and their engagement with the child welfare service
This study aimed at identifying subgroups and their trajectories in the German early intervention program “Nobody slips through the net”. The study sample consisted of 308 families with psychosocial risk constellations and 625 families used for validation of the main results.
