Case reports of acupuncturists and massage therapists at mayo clinic: new allies in expediting patient diagnoses
Massage and acupuncture have become well incorporated into conventional medical care in the United States. For example, a recent survey discovered that the percentage of hospitals in the United States using complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) had grown from 37 percent in 2007 to 42 percent by 2010.1 The increase has been driven by both patient demand and clinical effectiveness, the latter being demonstrated in a growing body of research that supports the efficacy and safety of both professions as adjuncts to conventional care. Building sangha in the american healthcare setting for persons with chronic disease
For persons with chronic disease, participation in meditation interventions can reduce anxiety, depression and chronic disease symptoms in a dose dependent fashion. Unfortunately, information about how to support long-term participation in such an intervention is lacking. Therefore, a recent discovery of persons with chronic lung disease who have maintained a self-led meditation group for more than four years created an opportunity to analyze experiences, meanings and relationship dynamics of this community based meditation group. Making Choices to Fit in While Changing the Culture
I find it difficult to truly define integrative oncology. Statements about how we look after the “whole person,” pay attention to lifestyle and stress, or even spirituality seem ambiguous and incomplete. All caregivers pay attention to these things, perhaps some more than others, but is it the extent to which we devote time to holistic health or the fact we do it that makes us unique? Furth ermore, what is included in integrative clinics vs. other settings is changing as we gather more evidence and complementary therapies become more accepted. (Source: Explore)

Climate change, well-being, and carbon
According to the Pew Research Center nearly half of American adults say “climate change is due to human activity.” A similar percentage say Earth's warming is entirely natural or that there is no evidence of warming.1 It is part of the Great Schism Trend, about which I have written in these pages many times.
