Diagnostic Performance of < sup > 18 < /sup > F-FDG PET/CT Semiquantitative Analysis in the Management of Sarcoidosis.
CONCLUSION: 18F-FDG PET/CT should be considered a useful technique for the evaluation of sarcoidosis and semiquantitative parameters. Further studies are needed to determine the long-term impact of 18F-FDG PET/CT on clinical outcomes. PMID: 31964325 [PubMed - in process] (Source: Current Medical Imaging Reviews)

Neuroimaging methods in Epilepsy of Temporal Origin.
CONCLUSION: Overall, advanced MRI, SPECT, and PET imaging techniques are increasingly becoming an essential part of TLE diagnostics, when the epileptogenic area is not identified on structural MRI or when structural MRI, clinical, and electrophysiological findings are not in concordance. Justification of Increasing the Blood Flow Velocity in the Arteries of the Thyroid Gland in Autoimmune Thyroiditis as a Reflection of Endothelial Changes Due to Inflammatory Status.
CONCLUSION: The value of peak systolic velocity and resistance index of inferior thyroid arteries in autoimmune thyroiditis are noticed even with euthyroidism and do not depend on systemic blood pressure and atherosclerosis of carotid arteries. Increasing the thyroid arterial blood flow velocity parameters should be considered as sign of an active inflammatory period AIT, where advanced fibrosis is not present. Recurrent Episodes of Pericardial Effusion as Isolated Manifestation of Tuberculosis: Case Report.
CONCLUSION: Tuberculosis can be difficult to diagnose when it only manifests as pericardial effusion especially if the time for exposure is long before the appearance of symptoms and admission. PMID: 31964331 [PubMed - in process] (Source: Current Medical Imaging Reviews)

Pulmonary Sarcoidosis Presenting with Miliary Opacities.
CONCLUSION: Although miliary sarcoidosis is rare, physicians should consider sarcoidosis in the differential diagnosis with conditions like tuberculosis, malignancy, and pneumoconiosis when patients present with miliary opacities who do not respond to the traditional treatment. Repeated Transarterial Chemoembolization with Degradable Starch
Microspheres (DSMs-TACE) of Unresectable Hepatocellular Carcinoma: A Prospective Pilot Study.
CONCLUSION: DSMs-TACE is a valid, well-tolerated alternative treatment to Lipiodol-TACE or DEB-TACE, as it has demonstrated to achieve a relatively high percentage of complete tumor necrosis. CR rates were similar between patients with mono- or bi-lobar disease indicating the possibility of carrying-out repeated procedure in a safe and effective way in both types of patients. Dynamic Contrast-enhanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging for Differentiating Between Primary Tumor, Metastatic Node and Normal Tissue in Head and Neck Cancer.
CONCLUSION: The DCE-MRI parameters were different in the tumors, metastatic nodes and normal tissue in head and neck cancer. These findings may be useful in the characterization of head and neck cancer. PMID: 29910699 [PubMed] (Source: Current Medical Imaging Reviews)

Mutual Information Correlation with Human Vision in Medical Image Compression.
Conclusion: The W-PSNR and W-MI showed that they can discriminate between different contrast areas using image compression ratios and the series of lines are equal to the contrast values and better than the tranditional approach. The W-MI measures were found to perform better than W-PSNR and can be used as an image quality index. PMID: 29399011 [PubMed] (Source: Current Medical Imaging Reviews)

The Clinical Value of Prenatal 3D Ultrasonic Diagnosis on Fetus Hemivertebra Deformity- A Preliminary Study.
Conclusion: 9 cases of fetus hemivertebra deformity have been detected through examination. Labor inductions have been carried out after getting the permission from the family members. The X-ray examination of the fetus after labor induction showed that the diagnosis was correct. Prenatal ultra-sonic examination holds strong potential for the diagnosis of fetus hemivertebra deformity quite early and deserves further clinical evaluation with large sample size.
