Intimate Partner Relationship Stress and Suicidality in a Psychiatrically Hospitalized Military Sample
Suicide among United States service members is a significant public health concern. Intimate partner relationship stress may contribute to suicide risk, as a failed or failing relationship is the most commonly documented stressor preceding military suicide attempts and deaths. However, little is known about the manner by which relationship stressors are associated with the experience of military suicidality. (Source: Comprehensive Psychiatry)

Gender differences in psychiatric and medical comorbidity with post-traumatic stress disorder
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is associated with significant personal and societal burden. The present study examines the gender-specific differences in this burden in terms of the co-occurrence of psychiatric disorders and medical conditions with PTSD in the general population of France. An investigation of the mentalization-based model of borderline pathology in adolescents
According to mentalization-based theory, transgenerational transmission of mentalization from caregiver to offspring is implicated in the pathogenesis of borderline personality disorder (BPD). Recent research has demonstrated an association between hypermentalizing (excessive, inaccurate mental state reasoning) and BPD, indicating the particular relevance of this form of mentalizing dysfunction to the transgenerational mentalization-based model. As yet, no study has empirically assessed a transgenerational mentalization-based model of BPD. (Source: Comprehensive Psychiatry)

Non-suicidal self-injury in patients with eating disorders: prevalence, forms, functions, and body image correlates
More than one third of patients with eating disorders report NSSI. Moreover, negative attitudes and feelings toward the body, body dissatisfaction, and body image disturbances have been linked to NSSI in community and clinical samples. However, there is a lack of studies exploring NSSI frequency and functions and the specific relationship between multidimensional body image dimensions and NSSI in eating disorder patients. Does dissociation mediate the relationship between childhood trauma and hallucinations, delusions in first episode psychosis?
Childhood trauma has been linked to the presence of delusions and hallucinations in psychosis, although the mechanisms underlying this relationship require elucidation. Dissociation, characterized by disruptions to the integrative functioning of several core mental domains, has emerged as a potential mechanism. There is a paucity of research using a clinician-rated measure of dissociation to test the indirect effect of dissociation on the relationship between childhood trauma and psychotic symptoms. Anxiety sensitivity and suicide risk among firefighters: A test of the depression-distress amplification model
Firefighters represent an occupational group at increased suicide risk. How suicidality develops among firefighters is poorly understood. The depression-distress amplification model posits that the effects of depression symptoms on suicide risk will be intensified in the context of anxiety sensitivity (AS) cognitive concerns. The current study tested this model among firefighters. (Source: Comprehensive Psychiatry)

Temperament and character profiles are associated with depression outcome in psychiatric secondary care patients with harmful drinking
Temperament and character profiles have been associated with depression outcome and alcohol abuse comorbidity in depressed patients. How harmful alcohol use modifies the effects of temperament and character on depression outcome is not well known. Knowledge of these associations could provide a method for enhancing more individualized treatment strategies for these patients. (Source: Comprehensive Psychiatry)
