Adaptation of mineral trioxide aggregate to dentine walls compared with other root ‐end filling materials: A systematic review
Abstract This systematic review analysed the literature comparing marginal adaptation of mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) with other filling materials in root‐end cavities. The PubMed, Ovid, Web of Science, SCOPUS, and Cochrane library databases were searched using appropriate keywords related to root‐end filling materials and adaptation. Of 38 articles assessed, 20 met the inclusion criteria. No in vivo study was identified. In 10 studies, MTA gave the best marginal adaptation results, but no significant differences were found between MTA and any of the tested filling materials in seven studies. There was great variab...

Influence of culture change on the perception of fear and anxiety pathways in Endodontics: A pilot proof of concept study
This study assessed the influence of cultural changes (known as acculturation) on pathways of fear and anxiety in Endodontics. A purposive sampling technique identified patients of Saudi Arabian descent living in Australia and Saudi Arabia. Only patients with root canal fillings (or treatment planned for endodontic treatment) were included. Patients with intellectual disabilities, surgical root therapy, and aged under 20 were excluded. Consenting patients attending the dental clinics of University of Griffith University, Australia and University of Dammam, Saudi Arabia completed the “My Endodontic Fear Questionnaire.” ...

Animal models used in furcation perforation studies: A systematic review and comprehensive synthesis of model characteristics
Abstract In order to systematise furcation perforation (FP) experimental animal models described in the literature and to determine whether there is evidence that a model is superior to others, MEDLINE/PubMed, SciELO and Cochrane Library were searched to find studies which used animal models of FP. Data were gathered concerning model characteristics, chosen groups, sample numbers, type of outcomes, journal and main area studied. Twenty‐five articles were included in this systematic review, four conducted in rodent models, three in non‐human primates and 18 in dogs. Medians were six animals and 34 teeth per study; 10 te...
