Multimorbidity in patients with chronic migraine and medication overuse headache
ConclusionsRecognizing multimorbidity in patients with CM ‐MOH is important to enhance the management of these complex patients, who are at risk of polypharmacy and increased health care utilization. (Source: Acta Neurologica Scandinavica)

Prevalence and risk factors of depression and anxiety among patients with convulsive epilepsy in rural West China
ConclusionsPWE have a high prevalence of depression and anxiety in rural West China, which may be impacting their quality of life. PWE with depression and anxiety got a worse quality of life, and depression had a greater impact on quality of life for PWE than anxiety. The risk factors of depression and anxiety include seizure frequency and social support, while annual income is an additional risk factor of depression. Identifying risk factors early may be helpful in the timely management of these symptoms. (Source: Acta Neurologica Scandinavica)

Open study with ( −)‐OSU6162 in multiple sclerosis‐related fatigue
ConclusionsIn view of its good tolerability, ( −)‐OSU6162 may offer a new treatment option for alleviating mental fatigue, as well as depression, in MS. Larger, randomized double‐blind controlled trials are warranted to confirm the present preliminary observations. (Source: Acta Neurologica Scandinavica)

Electroclinical features of epilepsy monosomy 1p36 syndrome and their implications
ConclusionThis syndrome represents a significant cause of IS: these patients, who develop IS, can suffer from pharmacoresistent epilepsy, that is more frequent in children with brain abnormalities. (Source: Acta Neurologica Scandinavica)

Disposable income trajectories of working ‐aged individuals with diagnosed multiple sclerosis
ConclusionsWe identified high diversity in DI development within the cohort around MS diagnosis. Socio ‐demographic and work disability characteristics differed between the trajectories. This broader information of the economic situation is important to convey to patients. (Source: Acta Neurologica Scandinavica)

Benign epilepsy with centrotemporal spikes: Correlating spike frequency and neuropsychology
ConclusionThe data do not support the hypothesis that the frequency of the interictal EEG discharges influences the neurocognitive performance or behavioral parameters of children with BECTS. (Source: Acta Neurologica Scandinavica)

Regional neuronal activity in patients with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis
ConclusionsOur results indicate effects of IFN ‐beta treatment on cerebellar, cortical and subcortical neuronal function. Moreover, more severe fatigue and depression in untreated patients seem to be associated with reduced neuronal activity in left posterior cingulate cortex and left superior temporal cortex, respectively. Antiepileptic drug withdrawal in juvenile myoclonic epilepsy
ConclusionsSelf ‐withdrawal of AEDs is common in JME, especially in those with troublesome conditions at home. However, about 1/3 may remain free from GTCS without AEDs. The findings indicate a need for a stronger follow‐up with appropriate information about the prognosis of the disorder. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. Neurostimulation for the treatment of chronic migraine and cluster headache
Small subsets of patients who fail to respond to pharmacological treatment may benefit from alternative treatment methods. In the last decade, neurostimulation is being explored as a potential treatment option for the patients with chronic, severely disabling refractory primary headaches. To alleviate pain, specific nerves and brain areas have been stimulated, and various methods have been explored: deep brain stimulation, occipital nerve stimulation, and sphenopalatine ganglion stimulation are among the more invasive ones, whereas transcranial magnetic stimulation and supraorbital nerve stimulation are noninvasive. Vagal ...

Response Heterogeneity in Fitness, Mobility, and Cognition with Exercise ‐Training in MS
ConclusionsThose with MS ‐related mobility disability who have the lowest aerobic fitness, walking speed, and CPS might benefit the most from multimodal exercise‐training. This provides critical evidence for informing the development of a precision medicine framework for improving targeted outcomes with exercise‐train ing in MS.This article is protected by copyright. Hereditary transthyretin ‐related amyloidosis
Hereditary transthyretin(TTR) ‐related amyloidosis (ATTRm amyloidosis) is an endemic/non‐endemic, autosomal‐dominant, early‐ and late‐onset, rare, progressive disorder, predominantly manifesting as length‐dependent, small fiber dominant, axonal polyneuropathy and frequently associated with cardiac disorders and other multisystem diseases. ATTRm amyloidosis is due to variants in theTTR gene, with the substitution Val30Met as the most frequent mutation.TTR mutations lead to destabilization and dissociation of TTR tetramers into variant TTR monomers, and formation of amyloid fibrils, which are consecutively deposi...
