Bone Marrow Transplant Program: Autologous Procedure
Dr. Michelle Hudspeth, the director of the pediatric blood and marrow transplant program at MUSC’s Children’s Hospital, describes the bone marrow transplant program and notes pediatric diseases for which a transplant may be necessary. She focuses on the autologous method of bone marrow transplant in which a person’s own cells are used. In this cancer podcast, Dr. Hudspeth indicates that MUSC is the only pediatric transplant center in the state of South Carolina.
