Comparison of magnetic resonance defecography with pelvic floor ultrasound and vaginal inspection in the urogynecological diagnosis of pelvic floor dysfunction
Conclusion: Despite different reference systems in the quantification of results, both the methods allow for a similarly successful separate assessment of all three compartments. The agreement between methods and interobserver agreement for the clinical diagnosis is good. Based on the results, we would recommend the supplemental dynamic PF ultrasound for part of the noninvasive examination for the diagnosis of POP. (Source: Urology Annals)

Forgotten double-J stent: Experience of a tertiary care center
Conclusions: A forgotten DJ stent affects population having low education score and belonging to the lower end of the socioeconomic class. Endourological procedures are quite successful in managing a forgotten DJ stent, provided the treatment options are selected judiciously and meticulously. We also suggest some protocols to be followed in our study in order to prevent a forgotten DJ stent. (Source: Urology Annals)

Trocar site recurrence after robotic partial nephrectomy to treat of renal cell carcinoma
Conclusion: TSR is potential type of RCC recurrence after RPN, though it is rare and underreported. Special attention should be given to examine the trocar site during the surveillance follow-up of RCC treated with RPN. It can develop up to 72 months after the surgery. (Source: Urology Annals)

Spectrum of tuberculosis in urology: Case series and review of the literature
Nirmal Kesavan Ponnayyan, Aravind Surendran Ganapath, Venugopal GanapathyUrology Annals 2020 12(2):107-111Urologists are confronted with various forms of extrapulmonary tuberculosis (TB) having an atypical presentation. The disease presents late with complications and sequelae. Four cases of extrapulmonary TB who presented to the urology department are reported here. The cases reported are TB adrenalitis, tuberculous cystitis, renal TB, and TB prostatitis. The prsentation of these cases shows GUTB as being a great imitator of other diseases. So there is a need for a very high index of suspicion for early diagnosis and to a...

High-flow priapism treated with selective embolization of a helicine branch of the penile artery: A case report and selected review of the literature
Faizanahmed I Munshi, Young Suk Kwon, Douglas T Gibbens, Parvez Mahmood, Mukaram Gazi, Ephrem O OlwenyUrology Annals 2020 12(1):103-105High-flow, or nonischemic, priapism occurs in <5% of observed clinical presentations of all priapism and is characterized by prolonged, painless erection in the context of pelvic and genitourinary trauma. While conservative management can be safely attempted for many cases of high-flow priapism (HFP), selective embolization is becoming the preferred approach as it allows for rapid resolution. We, herein, present a case of a 42-year-old male patient who presented with t...

Congenital unilateral absence of vas deferens with contralateral testicular atrophy
We present a case report of a 25-year-old obese man complaining of primary infertility for 2 years. After a thorough examination and investigation were done, he had congenital unilateral absence of vas deferens with ipsilateral renal agenesis and a palpable vas deferens in the contralateral side with testicular atrophy. Semen analysis showed low semen volume (0.5 mL) with azoospermia. Hence, a scrotal exploration and a crossover transseptal vasoepididymostomy to relocate the vas deferens were done. After 6 months, the sperm concentration reached 5 × 106/mL with good motility (40%) and volume (1.5 mL)...

Urethral duplication with rectourethral fistula: Review of two cases
Rama Kishan Saran, Kiran Mirdha, Sanya Saran, Rajendra Prasad TakharUrology Annals 2020 12(1):92-95 Urethral duplication is a very rarely observed congenital anomaly, mostly affecting the males. This case report highlights the management of two patients diagnosed with Type II A, Y-type urethral duplication. An 11-year-old boy was diagnosed with Type II A of Y-type urethral duplication, where the dorsal urethra was completely hypoplastic, and the ventral urethra was communicating with rectum. After the failure of a single-stage inner preputial pedicled tube urethroplasty, a perineoscrotal flap urethroplasty was done, and a...

Ureteroneocystostomy herniation leading to obstructive uropathy 10 years postrenal transplant: A rare case report
Shailesh Chandra Sahay, Dilip Bhalla, Pawan Kesarwani, Madan SethiUrology Annals 2020 12(1):90-91 Herniation of the urinary bladder is observed in around 1%–4% of cases. Bladder herniation rarely presents with obstructive uropathy; however, bladder herniation carrying ureteroneocystostomy and leading to obstructive uropathy of the graft is even rare. Here, we present a case of a 36-year-old male with deranged renal function test who had undergone renal transplant 10 years back. Computed tomography scan revealed bladder herniation with ureteroneocystostomy and hydronephrosis. He was surgi...
