Early outcomes of living-donor kidney transplantation with immunosuppression therapy induction with tacrolimus extended-release: A comparison with cyclosporin
Extended-release tacrolimus (TACER), administered once daily, offers improved adherence with reduced side effects while still maintaining immunosuppressive potency equivalent to that of conventional tacrolimus preparations. (Source: Transplantation Proceedings)

Dose Response Relationship between Diltiazem and Tacrolimus and its Safety in Renal Transplant Recipients
Inhibition of calcineurin inhibitors(CNI) metabolism with diltiazem reduces the dose of tacrolimus required to achieve its therapeutic blood concentration in kidney transplant recipients(KTR). This cost-saving maneuver is practiced in several countries including Malaysia but actual impact of diltiazem on tacrolimus blood concentration, dose-response relationship, cost-saving and safety aspects are unknown. This retrospective study was performed on all KTR aged 18 and above at our centre from 1st January 2006 to 31st December 2015, who were prescribed with diltiazem as tacrolimus-sparing agent. Evaluation of the Quality of Life, Severity of Depression, Anxiety and Stress in Patients After Kidney Transplantation
End stage renal disease (ESRD) has a significant impact on the patient's quality of life (QoL). The optimal treatment for ESRD is kidney transplantation (KTx), which aims to extend and improve the QoL. The aim of the study was to assess a QoL in renal transplant recipients. Does the low birth weight have an impact on living kidney donor outcomes?
Since nearly 30000 people worldwide become a live kidney donor each year, donor safety is of the utmost importance. Recent papers indicate that living kidney donation is associated with an increased relative risk for ESRD. It is essential to determine which donor will be more likely to develop ESRD. One of the risk factors for ESRD in live kidney donors is hypertension and as there are studies demonstrating that a low-birth weight is a risk factor for developing hypertension in adult life, we hypothesized that donors with low-birth weight may be at higher risk of developing renal disease after donation. Long-term changes in the spleen volume after living donor liver transplantation in pediatric recipients
Living donor liver transplantation (LDLT) is a definitive procedure for splenomegaly caused by liver cirrhosis and portal hypertension, but splenomegaly persists in some patients. The aim of this study was to clarify the long-term changes in the spleen volume after LDLT. (Source: Transplantation Proceedings)

Impact of donor age on the outcome of intestinal transplantation in Japan
The donor age for intestinal transplant (ITx) is relatively younger than that for other solid organs. Clear criteria for adequate donors has not been established. Only few donor has been available due to shortage of young donor. In order to clarify the age of the cadaveric and living donor, we reviewed the outcome of ITx based on donor ages in Japan. Standardized report forms were sent to all known ITx programs, asking for information on intestine transplants performed between 1996 and 2016. All programs responded.
