Therapeutic role of rifampicin in Alzheimer's disease
Rifampicin exerts significant brain protective functions in multiple experimental models. Here we summarize the underlying mechanisms of the neuroprotective and pro‐cognitive effects of rifampicin that are mediated by its anti‐inflammatory, anti‐tau, anti‐amyloid, and cholinergic effects. Beyond suggesting that rifampicin shows strong brain protective effects in preclinical models of Alzheimer's disease, we also provide substantial clinical evidence for the neuroprotective and pro‐cognitive effects of rifampicin. Future neuroimaging studies combined with clinical assessment scores are the following steps to be ta...

Relationship between anxious temperament and harm avoidance in medical students and staff
ConclusionThese findings support our hypothesis and suggest that anxious temperament may have ‘depressive proneness’ whereas harm avoidance may have ‘passive proneness.’ (Source: Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences)

Serum prolactin levels are associated with prefrontal hemodynamic responses using near ‐infrared spectroscopy in male psychotic patients treated with antipsychotics
In psychotic patients, altered hemodynamic responses and its significance in differential diagnosis are reported. However, effects of antipsychotics and associated increase of prolactin levels on prefrontal hemodynamic responses have not been well understood. Antipsychotics may affect neurovascular coupling directly by inhibiting dopamine receptors 1 or indirectly by increasing prolactin, which induces regional vasoconstriction. 2 (Source: Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences)
