Cow's milk allergic children – Can component resolved diagnostics predict duration and severity?
ConclusionOral food challenge cannot be replaced by s‐IgE to whole milk protein or milk components nor SPT in the diagnosis of CMA, however high levels of milk components and s‐IgE to milk increase the risk of a long lasting or persisting CMA.This article is protected by copyright. Reduced CDHR3 expression in children wheezing with rhinovirus
ConclusionsPreschool children with RV‐induced wheezing were shown to have reduced CDHR3 mRNA levels, which might result in an increased permeability of the epithelial layers of the airways and thereby an increased vulnerability. Thus, measuring CDHR3 mRNA levels might help to identify a more severe phenotype of wheezing preschool children. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. Wheezing and infantile colic are associated with neonatal antibiotic treatment
ConclusionAntibiotic treatment in the first week of life is associated with an increased risk for wheezing and infantile colics. This study may provide a rationale for early cessation of antibiotics in neonates without proven or probable infection. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
