Complementary Role of CMR to Conventional Screening in the Diagnosis and Prognosis of Cardiac Sarcoidosis
Conclusions Of all cardiac tests, CMR was the most valuable in the diagnosis and prognosis of cardiac sarcoidosis in a general sarcoidosis population. Echocardiography had an overall limited diagnostic value as a screening test, and an abnormal study, despite a high positive predictive value, may still need confirmation with CMR. Conclusions MAD is a common anatomic abnormality in MVP. The disjunctive annulus is decoupled functionally from the ventricle, leading to paradoxical annular dynamics with systolic expansion and flattening, and may thus require specific intervention. Doppler Echocardiography for the Estimation of LV Filling Pressure in Patients With Mitral Annular Calcification
Conclusions The E/e' ratio should not be used to estimate LVFP in subjects with significant MAC. However, mitral E/A ratio and IVRT are useful predictors of LVFP in this patient population.
