Influence of prior oral ethinylestradiol use on the efficacy of enzalutamide for the treatment of castration ‐resistant prostate cancer in men
ConclusionsCross‐resistance between ethinylestradiol and enzalutamide in the setting of pre‐docetaxel therapy seems to be evident. Therefore, ethinylestradiol should be used prudently before enzalutamide in this setting. (Source: International Journal of Urology)

Bacillus Calmette –Guérin strain differences as the basis for immunotherapies against bladder cancer
Abstract In the past 40 years, intravesical immunotherapy with Mycobacterium bovis bacillus Calmette–Guérin has been carried out as the most effective treatment for preventing local recurrences and tumor progression of non‐muscle‐invasive bladder cancer. Bacillus Calmette–Guérin is a family of vaccines derived in 1921 by the in vitro attenuation of Mycobacterium bovis. Subsequently, bacillus Calmette–Guérin seed lots were spread around the world, and both phenotypic and genotypic differences among the strains have been compiled. In recent genomic comparisons, the evolution of the different bacillus Calmette...

Laparoscopic adrenalectomy using the lateral retroperitoneal approach: Is it a safe and feasible treatment option for pheochromocytomas larger than 6 cm?
ConclusionsLaparoscopic adrenalectomy using the lateral retroperitoneal approach for pheochromocytomas can be regarded as a treatment option, even for tumors measuring >6 cm. Symptomatic pheochromocytomas and large tumor size seem to represent risk factors for intraoperative hypertension. (Source: International Journal of Urology)

Infiltrative lamina propria invasion pattern as an independent predictor for cancer ‐specific and overall survival of instillation treatment‐naïve stage T1 high‐grade urothelial bladder cancer
ConclusionsThe results of the present T1 high‐grade bladder cancer series suggest that lamina propria invasion pattern is a promising parameter to predict the prognosis of T1 high‐grade bladder cancer in an instillation treatment‐naïve subcohort. Prospective multicenter evaluations are warranted. The need for instillation treatment in T1 high‐grade bladder cancer is clearly demanded. (Source: International Journal of Urology)
