Agreement between jaw ‐muscle activity measurement with portable single‐channel electromyography and polysomnography in children
ConclusionEMG measurement with GCM was not accurate to detect PSG/SB in children. There was not advantage of multiple assessment for five nights with GCM, reducing the impact of night‐to‐night EMG episodes’ variability on the GCM/PSG correlation. Dentists' use of validated child dental anxiety measures in clinical practice: a mixed methods study
ConclusionsThe dentists in our study did not use anxiety scales, instead they rely on their own experience/judgement. Therefore, scales should be recommended as an adjunct to judgement. Brief scales are recommended as clinicians lack time and expertise in administering anxiety questionnaires. Advantages of using scales and hands‐on experience could be incorporated more in undergraduate training. (Source: International Journal of Paediatric Dentistry)

Impact of demographic and clinical variables on the oral health ‐related quality of life among five‐year‐old children: a population‐based study using self‐reports
ConclusionsUntreated dental caries and increased overjet were independently associated with worst OHRQoL in 5‐year‐old children. As an indication of social deprivation, dark and mixed skin color children compared to light ones presented higher probability for reporting worst OHRQoL independently of the oral clinical conditions. The first permanent molar: spontaneous eruption after a five ‐year failure
ConclusionThis report documents that an unerupted FPM in an 11‐year‐old patient may still have the eruptive potential to become functional within the dentition. The period spent monitoring the FPM's outcome prior to surgical intervention has avoided an operation under general anaesthetic and potentially unnecessary orthodontic treatment, as the tooth subsequently erupted without treatment.
