Influence of dental insurance coverage on access to preventive periodontal care in middle ‐aged and elderly populations: analysis of representative Korean Community Health Survey Data (2011–2015)
ConclusionsInsurance coverage for dental scaling positively influenced access to preventive care for periodontal disease in middle ‐aged and elderly individuals. In the future, the long‐term contributions of dental insurance coverage to the prevalence of periodontal disease and oral health disparities should be evaluated. Sugar ‐sweetened beverage consumption frequency in Korean adolescents: based on the 2015 Youth Risk Behavior Web‐Based Survey
ConclusionThe results of the current study suggest that families and society should work collectively to motivate adolescents to consciously choose and buy healthy snacks. Furthermore, society should reach a consensus and invest effort to resolve this issue continuously and gradually, such as by presenting a standard for consumption of sugar ‐added drinks and implementing regulations to ban sales to adolescents. Preparedness and attitudes towards medical emergencies in the dental office among Polish dentists
ConclusionThe prevalence of medical emergencies in dental offices in Poland is comparable with that in other countries. A large number of dentists do not feel competent enough to manage medical emergencies. Better undergraduate and postgraduate training in medical emergencies is recommended, as well as broader availability of emergency medical equipment in the dental office.
