Acupuncture in Australia
Abstract Acupuncture is one of the most commonly accepted forms of alternative therapy in Australia. We have hypothesised that a 2002 World Health Organization (WHO) report on acupuncture, which listed over 90 diseases for which acupuncture may be indicated, but was subsequently withdrawn in 2014, could be contributing to the rise in the popularity of acupuncture. We have determined the prevalence of Australian acupuncturists' websites citing the withdrawn WHO acupuncture report. (Source: Focus on Alternative and Complementary Therapies)

Facial nerve paralysis grade V managed with combined medical and alternative therapy: a case report with literature review
ConclusionIn spite of the current debate regarding the application of alternative therapies in treating patients with medical conditions, this 23‐year old woman with FNPV recovered significantly after 3 months’ treatment using a combination of medical and alternative therapies. We conclude that offering alternative therapy, specifically wet cupping, or Hijama, in treating difficult medical conditions like FNPV can aid in the complete recovery of the condition. Journalists' attitudes towards homeopathy: survey data from Germany
ConclusionBecause journalists act as the ‘gatekeepers' of evidence‐based scientific knowledge, targeted scholarly attention on journalists' attitudes is important. A thorough understanding of journalists' attitudes may contribute to a better dissemination of evidence‐based scientific knowledge to the wider public. This may ultimately contribute to better‐informed patients who make their health decisions by considering evidence‐based knowledge instead of widely shared myths.
