Transition from pediatric to adult health care for young adults with neurological disorders: parental perspectives.
CONCLUSIONS: This study has provided a greater understanding of parental perceptions of transition care for young adults with a complex chronic neurological disorder who have an intellectual impairment. The emotional toll on the parents is tremendous and requires thoughtful consideration when planning the transition process for these young adults. Although all parents acknowledged the hardships and adversity they faced during the process were immense, they all felt that with better guidance and improved resources, the experience for future families could be a positive and satisfying experience. Becoming normal: a grounded theory study on the emotional process of stroke recovery.

Association between time-to-presentation and clinical outcome in patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage: an observational study.
CONCLUSIONS: In this observational study, duration from symptom onset to hospital presentation was not independently associated with death or severe disability at hospital discharge following SAH. The effect of education on nurses' assessments in an epilepsy monitoring unit.
CONCLUSIONS: The Nurse Assessment Rating Scale enabled the researchers to transform a qualitative measure of assessment into a quantitative indicator that could be compared pre- and post-education. Second, data indicated that the education significantly improved the assessment scores. With education, original protocols were reinforced and assessments became more consistent resulting in improved scores. Third, using a multimodal education format targeted aspects of performance such as respect and compassion. Specialist nursing training in Poland: applications for neuroscience nursing.

Patients' perceptions of their roles in goal setting in a spinal cord injury regional rehabilitation program.
This study was conducted using a qualitative descriptive methodology to explore patients' perceptions of their roles in setting goals in a spinal cord injury regional rehabilitation program. Imogene King's theory of goal attainment was used to frame the study. Data were collected through interviews and analyzed using a content analysis.
