Attitudes of patients with metastatic cancer towards research biopsies
ConclusionsPatients with cancer show a greater willingness to consider APBs compared to RPOBs, and biopsies performed at less invasive body sites. There are differences in the attitudes of patients with different cancers towards research biopsies. Further research addressing motivations and barriers to research biopsies should be considered to increase the availability of this important resource. Predictors of care for patients with cancer of unknown primary site in three Australian hospitals
ConclusionThe determinants of care were generally consistent with international CUP clinical guidelines. Areas of future research include potential underinvestigation and undertreatment of older patients, overuse of certain low‐value diagnostic tests, suboptimal use of immunohistochemistry and mammography and underreferral to palliative care. Combined transcatheter arterial chemoembolization and radiofrequency ablation in single ‐session for solitary hepatocellular carcinoma larger than 7 cm
ConclusionsCombined use of TACE and RFA in single‐session is a safe and effective option in the treatment of patients with solitary large HCC (> 7 cm) not amenable to surgery. (Source: Asia-Pacific Journal of Clinical Oncology)

PD ‐L1 expression associated with worse survival outcome in malignant pleural mesothelioma
ConclusionsOur analysis found a higher percentage of MPM patients with positive PD‐L1 (> 1%) compared to other studies. Highly positive PD‐L1 expression was associated with statistically significantly lower median survival time. (Source: Asia-Pacific Journal of Clinical Oncology)

Lower trial participation by culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) cancer patients is largely due to language barriers
ConclusionsLimited English proficiency seems particularly unfavorable to trial participation. Development and evaluation of strategies to overcome language barriers (e.g. simplified and translated multimedia participant information materials) is needed.
