Role of interleukin ‐17 in the pathogenesis of perianal abscess and anal fistula: a clinical study on 50 patients with perianal abscess
ConclusionsExpression of IL ‐17 was increased in the anorectal tissues and peripheral blood of patients with perianal abscess and anal fistula. IL‐17 may play an important role in the pathogenesis of perianal abscess and anal fistula. (Source: ANZ Journal of Surgery)

Volar locking plating versus percutaneous Kirschner wires for distal radius fractures in an adult population: a meta ‐analysis
ConclusionsThis study demonstrates similar clinical functional and radiological outcomes for VLP and K ‐wire fixation in the short and intermediate term. There is a higher rate of overall complication with K‐wires, but the increased risk of reoperation must be considered when planning surgical fixation of these fractures.
