Diuretic or Calcium Channel Blocker for CKD
It has been suggested by researchers that the diuretic clorthalidone should be the first line of antihypertensive therapy with a few caveats. Firstly in the presence of certain co-morbidities other drugs with a proven track record of reducing end organ damage should be instituted as first line instead. Thus it has been suggested that in patients with diabetic kidney disease and angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) be commenced early due to its proven reno-protective effects in type 2 diabetics with kidney disease.

Blood test results 2014
After over a year with no tests, I decided to subject myself to the needle again and have my blood analyzed.
The good news: no change
The tests show no signs of kidney function degradation. Serum creatinine is 2.0mg/dL, exactly what it was when I was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease over five years ago. All other parameters are pretty consistent with the results obtained over the last five years and are within, or close to, the normal healthy range.

On a recent trip to Portand, this colorful image of the giant gothic P smacked my visual cortex. This extraordinary endeavor is an enormous replica of the Portland Art Museum logo made entirely from bicycle helmets. It is hanging above their entrance in observance of the show Cyclepedia, an exhibition of iconic bicycle design. The exhibit inside was pretty dang fun to see, though difficult to photograph. At the International Motor Show 2013 in Frankfurt, Mercedes-Benz shows off its Concept S-Class Coupe. Regarding the car, Daimler says “sensual clarity” was set as a focal point for the designers, who mixed of both emotive and traditional elements. Therein is a V8 Biturbo engine and an infotainment system with MoodGrid software.

Apple Unveils 'Budget' iPhone 5C in 5 Colors: Cost only $99
Apple has announced a new device to its iPhone line-up. Dubbed budget iPhone, the device will be called iPhone 5C.
The iPhone 5C bears the same physical dimension as the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S, but it has a soft silicon rubber body instead of anodized aluminum. Targeting the youth, iPhone 5C comes in blue, green, yellow, pink and white shades.
