Pivot is a Tool to Find Funding – Register Now for a January 23rd Training Session
Jefferson subscribes to Pivot to provide researchers with a tool to identify grants and other funding opportunities. Formerly called Community of Science, the vendor redesigned and re-branded the service with the “Pivot” name last year.  Chris Horn, a trainer from ProQuest, will be on campus Wednesday, January 23 for a noontime session. New RefWorks Feature: 14 Day Login
RefWorks has launched a new feature that will keep you logged into the service as long as you have accessed your account within the past 14 days.  This improvement will make it easier to access RefWorks without having to constantly supply your log-in credentials.  If you do not access your account within the 14 day window, you will be prompted to enter your log-in credentials again in order to gain access to your account. Scott Library Improvements Begin in January
On January 7, 2013, renovations will begin on the second floor of Scott Library. The construction of 10 small-group collaboration suites along the east and west sides, is expected to take 7-8 weeks and we will keep as much of the second floor open as possible during this time. The new rooms, for groups of 4-6, are designed to support group study and collaboration. Each will be fully equipped with a computer, a large flat screen monitor, and a writing surface. Jefferson Digital Commons: Notes from October-December 2012
2012 wraps up with the Jefferson Digital Commons (JDC) archiving 6,655 assets and registering 1,209,115 full-text downloads. Approximately 407 new items were added to the JDC during the last quarter of 2012. One year ago, the JDC had 4,370 assets.  Over the past year 2,285 new assets were added, averaging a little more than 6 assets per day.  In addition, our download count went from 772,501 on Jan 1, 2012 to 1,209,115 on Jan 1, 2013.  On average, we had 1,196 downloads per day.
