New Ambulance Service Launches in Northwoods (WI) Through Marshfield Clinic Health System
According to a report from WAOW, Marshfield Clinic Health System is adding an ambulance service to their operations in the Northwoods, Wisconsin. The health care system also operates hospitals in Minocqua and Park Falls.
Launched in December, the ambulance service will not be used for emergency or 911 calls. However, it will be used as an interfacility transfer service. Marshfield Clinic said this new service will increase access to health care for those living in rural areas.

Seattle Fire Will Go Door to Door with Coronavirus Vaccines

The Seattle Fire Department on Thursday will begin vaccinating residents of adult family homes throughout the city, after the city was approved late last week as a distributor of COVID-19 vaccines, Mayor Jenny Durkan announced.

UK May Move Patients Into Hotels to Ease Hospital Strain
Discussions about the issue were first reported by the Guardian newspaper.
“We would only ever do that if it was clinically the right thing for somebody,” Hancock told Sky News. “In some cases, people need sit-down care, they don’t actually need to be in a hospital bed.”
Britain already has Europe’s deadliest coronavirus outbreak, with over 83,000 deaths, and the number of hospital beds filled by COVID-19 patients patients is still rising. Hospitals in England English are now treating 55% more COVID-19 cases than during the first peak of the pandemic in April.

A Florida firefighter who was photographed inside the Capitol during a riot by loyalists of President Donald Trump has been charged with disorderly conduct.
A charge of disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds was filed Tuesday in the District of Columbia against Andrew Williams.

Ogden (UT) Man Accused of Stealing Ambulance, Resisting Arrest
An Ogden (UT) man was charged after stealing an ambulance just after the New Year, according to authorities.
Police said Mitchell Bryce May stole the ambulance on January 3 after first responders were called to a medical call at an apartment complex, the Deseret News reported. The ambulance was later found abandoned behind a house several hours later.
Video footage was also obtained that showed the man who stole the vehicle, police said.
On January 11, police were called to a disturbance where May was accused of being violent. Officers saw May was allegedly in possession of a bag of suspected methamphetamine.

Backus (MN) May Increase EMS/Fire Service Contract to Surrounding Areas
