Primary Care Curricular Integration: An Incremental and Emergent Approach (Randall Longenecker MD)

They took an incremental and emergent approach from complexity science. An essential component of Family Medicine is providing quality medical care to patients and their families in the context of community. The Rural Physician Associate Program (RPAP) at the University of MN requires its annual cohort of 30-40 3rd year medical students to complete a community health assessment (CHA) project during their 9 month LIC experience. This poster describes a multi-year student project in Long Prairie, MN where successive RPAP students partnered with their Family Medicine preceptor to provide preventive health services to the Amish.
